It was a hard journey to receive all of my money back from this company. After I agreed to purchase their vacations, I realized that it was a scam. I purchased the vacation on Sat, so I had to wait until Monday to cancel it. Apparently, they don't open on Sundays.

I did not know the Caribbean Cruise line is the famous Ramada Resorts. I did my homework over the weekend (searched the internet to get my gears; laws to reference, consumer rights etc) and called them 1st thing on the following Monday.

Since I have not received any mails from them and I did not even check their website yet, I didn't know what was written on my package. I just called their toll free number that they have referred as the customer service line (reservation line). I told the phone agent to cancel my reservation. He tried to convince me that I am giving up the most (or the worst!) vacation what so ever. He told me that they also have purchased a new ship (replacing Imperial Majesty) because they had so many complaints regarding Imperial Majesty.

Well, since I have done the homework, I knew their new ship (Bahamas something) is a replacement of Imperial Majesty and it's a renovated one (not a new ship). He told me that it cost them several million dollars and it is really nice ship. I didn't care what he told me, I kept asking him to cancel my trip. Finally he told me that I will get only the half of the money and I knew what he is referring to since our conversation with the confirming this was recorded on Sat. I did not remember any of the conversation regarding their refund policy.

I referred him back to the FL state law which stated that the consumer can cancel their purchase within 3 days of purchase. I read it somewhere on the internet that if I change my mind within 30 days of purchase, I can still cancel the trip and receive the full refund. After I mentioned these facts, he finally agreed to refund 100% of my money to my credit card within 8-10 business days.

My advice is, don't trust them. I called my credit card company on the same day of cancellation that I asked them to dispute the charges from the Caribbean cruise line. When I checked my credit card transaction online, I realized that they also charged me extra $25 which I did not even know. It was charged on the same day when I purchased my vacation. Since I don't remember $25 charge, I disputed this charge from them as well.

You probably paid the entire purchase amount by your credit card. Please call your credit card company to dispute the charges at the same time when you cancel the trip just in case. They ended up credit my account back the entire trip but they still did not credit the second charge of $25 yet. I already disputed $25 charge so I don't need to pay this to my credit company.

Good luck and stay away from this company as much as you can. And thank you so much for your information on this website. Without your help, I probably still fighting for my charges with them.

Finally got my money back.  Just FYI, I was charged $29.95 cancellation fee which I did not agree with.  I was working with my credit company to claim my money.  Trust me, it was worth it!

I also was naive to the whole telemarketing phone call and gave them my credit card number. There is still hope. After realizing my mistake, I investigated a lot online about the company, visited the BBB website that gave a little information about the cruise, and looked up consumer laws. It is believed that the cruise line is actually NOT new, but a renovated one of Imperial Majesty (They denied this over the phone). I brought up the issue of the Florida State law which states that you can cancel deals within 3 days of purchase (PLEASE note they say this only applies to those living in florida. Therefore, please look up your own state laws regarding consumer purchases before you call them). I brought up swine flu in Mexico etc. etc. Finally, I was able to them by saying I really cannot afford the overall excess cost of the trip (oil fees, flights to and fro fl, repaying the credit voucher) etc. The main thing you have to do is first-and-foremost file a complaint with your credit card company. Next, investigate the cruise. Be honest with them why you want your money back (you don't want it, can't afford it, were mislead into agreeing to it etc). Be patient and try to remain calm b/c they put you on hold a LOT. Do not hang up keep on the line (I had to talk to 3 different people). Be firm with your comments and don't be swayed with their babbling--cut them off if you have to and say "the MAIN thing is I just don't want to go on your cruise, I want to cancel my reservation and want my money back." They will try to bargain down the price (they took 300 off mine) or say "this is a good trip etc" Don't be swayed and keep saying you want your refund. Bring in state laws, etc. etc. IT IS POSSIBLE. best of luck.
