Carnival Cruise Line Cancelled fully paid booking without notice - won't refund money Internet, Florida
We purchased two Cabins (one Suite/one Interior) through Carnival.com for the 11/15 sailing on the Fascination out of Jacksonville. On 10/5 I received a confirmation email from Carnival showing that both bookings were PAID IN FULL. We purchased on a Military discount that was offered and I emailed our DD214 to [email protected]. On 10/8 I received a confirmation email back from them saying they had received my information.
On 11/9 I went to log in and print out our documents for the upcoming cruise. Only one of the two bookings was showing up so I called in to find out why. They said that the reservation for the Suite had been cancelled. When I asked why, they said it was because they didn't receive the military information. When I said I had a copy of the email confirming the receipt, they asked me to forward it to them, which I did. After reviewing, then they said that there was a balance due and that's why they cancelled it. I said I had an email showing FULLY PAID from 10/5. Then they said that they were sorry but that the ship was full and there were no rooms available for the cruise we had booked.
The only option is to change sailing dates or to change locations. They totally ruined our familiy vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday and have offered no acceptable solution. After researching this online, it seems that Carnival makes a regular practice of taking people's deposits or partial payments and then cancelling reservations and keeping the money. This is UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES and they should be investigated. Especially the MILITARY offer. I found others who had the same experience of saying they didn't receive the paperwork needed, so they cancelled the reservation and kept their money. This is a nice way to treat MILITARY!!!!!
