Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Cardinal Financial is a horrible company that is as incompetent as it is evil.

I called Matt Sharp at Cardinal Financial nearly 3 months ago for an FHA refinance, and it turned into a nightmare. He promised me that I was pre-approved and that I met all the qualifications, then took $750 from me for an appraisal. The agent assured me that loans were closing in just a few weeks.

From that point, I went in circles with them for 2 months. In this time, they asked me to provide them about 50 different documents and sign the same stuff over and over again. There were 8 different people sending me random emails from the company, and none of them were coordinating.

I was asked 7 different times through those 2 months if I was married, and EVERY single time I told them I was, but that she wasn't on the title and I DID NOT WANT HER TO BE. I told them I was applying for the refi, not her. I made this very clear. They continued with the slow roll process for 2 months after the first time I informed them I was married, and then at the 59th minute of the 11th hour with months behind us, they finally are ready to close; BUT they inform me that it is "THEIR POLICY" to ALWAYS include the spouse of the borrower in their loan process in "community property states".

Now, if they told me this at the beginning, I would have said thanks but no thanks and all would have been fine. If they told me this after the 3rd time I told them I was married, I would have been annoyed but I would have got over it.. But they asked me SEVEN times and didn't tell me ANYTHING about this policy 'til after the SEVENTH time MONTHS into the process.

This is quite frankly the most unprofessional business experience of my entire life. They stole $750 from me that they refuse to reimburse, and more importantly they stole two months of my life.

DO. NOT. DO. BUSINESS. WITH. THIS. COMPANY.

You have been warned.

They made good on the situation. Honest company.

I had some issues and didn't end up refinancing with them, but will give them lots of credit for refunding me the $750 that I spent during the process.

Would give them another shot in the future.

They make good on their word, which is a rare thing from a company nowadays.
