I signed up with them for a Merchant Account. They charged outrageous and numerous undisclosed fees. Then when I tried to close the account, they refused. They said I had signed a contract which I had not.

After much arguing, they finally agreed to close my acount, but only if I sent them a letter via snail mail, which I did. Meanwhile, they continued to debit my bank account monthly.

I called back, same run around, send them another letter. I did, bank account debits continued.

I called them yet again and told them I was filing a charge back with my bank for all the charges. They told me they did not receive any letters and to please send another. I refused and reiterated that I was filing a chargeback. They told me they would continue to bill me regardless of the chargeback or not and that I would owe the money.

I filed the chargeback, and my bank removed the fees for the past several months. First Data send me a scathing email stating that I owed them the money and they were filing it on my credit. Unfair, since I did jump through their hoops, but at least they are no longer able to debit my bank account.

I am going to put this rebuttal to everybody that has been ripped off by FIRST DATA GLOBAL LEASING/MERCHANT SERVICES. I want to encourage everyone to contact their local news stations and major news stations on how they were ripped off by this company. One would think we would get someone's attention and something would be done to this company. I'm a small business owner that really cannot afford to be ripped off by this company. I tried hiring a lawyer but was told it would be cheaper for me to just pay them off. Which I did but am very angry about it! I work hard for my money and this company just takes it and say's oh well with no consequences. I want my money back plus some for all the stress, mental and health issues I have had because of THEIR dishonesty! So I am typing up a letter and am going to email to my local news stations and major news stations everyday till I get a response from someone. Hope you all join me in this quest. More voices are heard than one!

Before you open a merchant account, make sure the company u are dealing with does not clear through First Data Merchant Services. When you seeking a credit card processor keep in mind that these guys are not actually processing the card a larger enitity like First Data is actually in control and does the processing. Many don't know this so ask!!! It will save you a lot of headaches!!! Especially if you own an internet business, because first data is looking for any glitch even running a declined card more that once to hold a "reserve" they are getting rich on holding these reserves dont let them hold your money.

I work for First Data itself, not the affiliate that sell our products/services. I apologize for the service you received. As you can imagine, there are people in this company and industry, just like every other company/industry, that can give the rest a bad impression. I have been a customer service fanatic for my clients since starting at First Data years ago. If you haven't got your challenge resolved yet, PLEASE let me know. I will tell you EXACTLY how to get it handled. I'm not saying that just to be cheesy. I know there are things that happen that make a small percentage of our customers unhappy. Since I plan on retiring here, I want to insure that before I do so, I leave as many people BRAGGING about the service they got here. I bet I can also save you money ongoing at the same time. You are already here....won't cost you a dime to get it fixed right! [email protected]
