A hardship program is a temp refinance program to lower payments on a short term basis. Its not surprising you were declined. What benefit is it to them to lower your payments if you still do not have the income to pay for it? 1500$ a month is not much money if that's all you need to qualify. That is two adults working part time for minimum wage. I really don't think that's too much to ask. You also don't say why you didn't get your unemployment. If your husband was laid off he should have recieved it, if he quit or had misconduct and was fired then that's a different issue. Just go get some part time jobs? even at mcdonald's? and you will qualify.
