I purchased a brand new 2007 Lincoln Navigator. my income changed shortly after. I managed to pay on-time for more than a year before I fell behind. Although my payments were late, i continued to pay the best i could for 4 years. Capital One called several times a day for approximately 3 years. Some days they called 1 to 3 times. several days they called 10+ times up to possibly 20 times. Even when I made payment arrangements and told several agents that i was unable to answer because i drive trucks and cannot legally talk while driving!  In February 2011, they approved me for their 'Hardship" program which was designed to lower my payments and defer 2 payments. Also stating that if I paid the requested amount, my next payment would not be due until April 21st, 2011. After I made the requested payment in full, Capital One retracted the agreement which left me more than 60 days past due.  On April 13th my vehicle was reposessed. They told me I had 10 days to pay all late and current payments in full before the vehicle would be auctioned to the highest bidder. As i attempted to pay that amount and recover my vehicle on April 22nd, I was informed that my vehicle was auctioned off on April 20th. Less than the suposed '10 days' they told me.  Many people will judge my character by the late payments. I know that I did my best. I cannot predict the future.  When the banks were in trouble the government bailed them out. Who bails honest citizens out?  Some lawyer needs to try a civil suit for me.   I paid almost $50,000 on that truck before they took it. SMH
