Two years ago, I applied for a Capital One credit card. Along with the application was an agreement that if you switched your phone service to MCI, the annual fee for the card was waived. I waited, and waited. I called Cap One, and was told that it applied after the next yearly fee came around. That sucked, but okay. The next year comes around. I get a fee. Called Cap One. They say MCI should have paid it. MCI says Cap One should have paid it. On and on and on.

Then both companies blamed it on my LOCAL phone company. Whatever. After a year and a half of this crap, I got pissed and cancelled my MCI. Of course, it was only a matter of days before they were hot on my tail, asking me to come back. I told them why I dropped them, and do you know what they had the nads to say? "well, we can only extend that offer to current MCI customers". So what the heck was I for two years while I battled this out? Anyway, beware of credit cards bearing gifts. Never did get my fee paid. And guess what was in my last Cap One statement? "......we'll cover your annual fee if you switch to Sprint!!!! yeah right.
