Today I was a rip-off victim, almost! After being so foolish in giving my bank number, my social security number, and more over the phone I began to think. They had increased my limit to charge from $6,000 to $8,500 because I had expressed doubts about letting them take $249.99 from my account. In order to prevent an over-draft charge they wouldn't even take it from my account for 30 days, AND they were willing to let up have a limit to charge that was larger than my yearly income. As soon as I hung up the phone warning signals went off in my head and I had stomach pains from fear. I got on the web and brought up the name Capital Credit Alligance. Shock shot through my whole being. Sure enough their name was just under the words, "RIP OFF" with a bright red background and I had given them everything they needed to take the money out of my account whether the money was there or not! I would have to pay the overdraft and somehow pay back the bank. I got on the phone with the bank immediately and they were kind enough to put a stop pay without charge after I told them the whole story. I was surprised the bank representave was not! There is so much of this going on he didn't really care exactly who was diong this dirty deed. If not for the web I would be out $250.00 plus. It seems to me no one cares!!
