Callahan and associates They called threatening to freeze my bank account and income tax return for 2019 Murrieta California
On 19 October 2018, I received a voicemail from Callahan and associates saying that they had an court order to freeze my banking account and to stop me from receiving my 2019 income tax return. The number then left this voicemail was 951-387-3966, but in the voicemail it told me to call 1-800-268-0307. When I try to call and woman named Kaitlyn said that she had been trying to reach me and send me mail saying that I had a court date coming up. I asked her when was this account open and she said they count was open in 2009 with the overdue balance of $1369.21. She didn’t say that she can see that I was making payments up until 2014 . When I told her I never had an account back into 009 or paid any payments she became very aggressive When I asked what she excepts a monthly payment she didn’t said no that I have to pay the full amount today or they were going to take me to court and I was gonna have to pay that amount plus $5000 in court fees. She then went on to say that she looked up my credit accounts and seen that had me big purchases in the last couple years and she couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t be able to make this big payment today. She then went on to say because I was in the military I should be able to pay this amount today. When I told her my military career had nothing to do with what she was talking about she again became very aggressive and rude saying why I should be able to pay my payments if I’m in the military.
By then I had hung up and she continue to call until I picked up two answered my phone again. This time she said she has spoken to her attorneys and they had told her that if I was able to make a payment arrangement and she would be able to work with me. She said I can either pay $1369.21 by Monday or I would have to pay $1694.21 by 1 November. If I was able to make either one of those payment plans she said they were close out my account today. When I asked if she had a direct number for me to call her back she told me no I would have to call the number that I originally called in order to get in touch with her on Monday to make these payment arrangements.
