Burnside Financial Services Called me 4 times in a row from private number (who answers private number? Not me!!). Left 2 voicemails. Manae Dorsey was her name. Very aggressive (scare tactic to get me to call back). Said I needed me or my attorney to call back regarding money owed.
I called the number back, knowing full well it was likely a scam but wanted to entertain the idea that it wasn't and also give benefit of the doubt that the human race hasn't completely gone to garbage. I spoke with Mrs. Dorsey who said she was attempting to collect a debt for $659 from overdraft fee of Wells Fargo. I asked her what year, she told me it was 2008. (Funny if you look at another report on here just posted yesterday, they said the exact same thing!). Anyway, I told her I did not ever have an accou t with them and that it would have been impossible because I'm Canadian and only got a US bank account when I became a citizen in 2015. She repeated the last 4 of my social, which was correct (scary). She repeated herself again, and told her AGAIN that there was no way it was me and the information is wrong. She said, "So clearly you are refusing to pay so I will go ahead with the next steps" blah blah blah. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!!! The scary thing is, had I been a regualr US citizen that could have easily had a bank account with wells fargo, i probably would have believed her. This is unfortunately how they get people. Easy targets... I will do like the person that postes yesterday did and file a report with Attoney General Office.
