BUYER BEWARE!

I am very hesitant to write a negative review but I feel somewhat forced to do so for two reasons.  Reason number one is that I am a advocate that customer service should always come first when running a business.  Secondly and most importantly, I feel the need to point out what I consider a product to be not only a faulty defective designed holster but to also put an average person such as myself in to a deadly situation if I were ever in a situation in which I needed to pull out my concealed carry weapon.

I own a Smith and Wesson M&P Compact 9mm.   I am left handed and needed to purchased an IWB so I could conceal carry my weapon using the appendix method.    I asked many of my LEO colleagues what holder they recommended.   Hands down they all recommended a reputable Florida owned by the name of RDR (Rounds Down Range) which is solely family owned and operated out of Fort Lauderdale.

At the advice of my gun dealer, I went with something he had stocked on his shelf; a Bullseye Holster.  The packaging clearly stated that it was a “left handed holster made for a S&W M&P”.   I purchased this item and immediately holstered my weapon as soon as I got to the car.  This “form fitting” holster allowed my weapon to be engaged down so far that it was pressing against my magazine release causing my magazine to be ejected.  The weapon went approximately ¾ of an inch past what should have been the stopping point.  This holster was obviously faulty, defective or poorly designed.

I immediately went to the Bullseye website and they claimed that their recommendation for returns was to go through them and to Not return the products to the dealer.

I Called Bullseye the following morning and spoke to someone by the name of Rodney that claimed to be an owner.  I explained how my weapon was going too far deep in to the holster causing my magazine to be disengaged.

Rodney (stated he was an owner) asked me to send photos of my weapon both holstered and un-holstered.  I emailed him several pictures which clearly showed the dangerous issue I was having.  Rodney replied back acknowledging there was an issue and asked me to send the holster to him at my cost so he could put an extra rivet in it.

I found this resolution to be unacceptable.  I would have much rather him offer to either immediately send me a replacement and or cover the cost for me to this potentially deadly holster back to him to get it out of circulation.

I later received a call from his brother and co-owner; Rob.  Rob was quick to defend his item by stating I was holstering my weapon incorrectly.  I asked myself; “how does one exactly holster a weapon incorrectly to the point of causing a magazine to eject?”.    I got the same run around from Rob that I did from Rodney (2 brothers that are running this company).

My final words are they should have spent the $10 to email me a shipping label to return the item and I would have never gotten to the point of frustration I am at now.

If you simply Google “Bullseye Reviews” you will find many other deadly issues similar to mine.

Where is Customer Service?

To the "owner" posting his rebuttal response,

I will agree with you on one thing, it is sad that I had to voice my concerns on a site such as this one.  What I will disagree with you about is that I was never offered a refund or offered to have a prepaid postage sent to me in order to return this unsafe and defective holster back you you.  You reported back to you "website posted policy" of all items being returned at the cost of the customer.

I clearly explained that I did not feel comfortable returning this holster to the gun shop because of my concern of it simply being placed back on the shelf for resale and someone else obtaining what I consider an unsafe, defective and lethal holster.  After threats from someone claiming to be your legal counsel, I was left with no means other than to return it to the store in which I explained the issue in which I was told by their owner that they would immediately contact “the vendor” about the issue.

I by no means am trying to ruin the name or reputation that you have made for yourself or your product.  As you clearly have expressed, you have thousands of people that love your product that include military, LEO and many other consumers you found necessary to point out to belittle the concerns of an average consumer.  I have since done my homework and purchased a form fitting Kydex Holster that fits my weapon like a glove.  Bizarrely, there are no malfunctions with this new holster.  No matter how hard I have tried to recreate the issue I had with your holster, I could not recreate it.  Only a few things come to mind; poor design on your end with certain weapon styles, Unreliable inexpensive material used in the manufacturing of your product or simply you are putting cookie cutter holsters out just as fast as you can make them.  You did state that you would send someone to the gun shop with a Kydex machine to manufacture a custom holster for me within 5 minutes.

I am sorry but I think that part of the problem here is that you need to stop the circus show of a 5-minute custom holster.  Any gun holster manufacturer with tell you that it takes more than a simple 5 minutes’ wo Mold the Kydex and get to perfectly form fit.

We can argue back and forth for weeks to come without an end solution but the reality here is that your immediate excuses you gave ever placed any blame on anyone other than me.  I was simply told that I was using this holster wrong.  Your holster case was one of the few out in the market that did not come with a disclaimer for a possible injury or even specific institutions on h*o to use a holster.   I take great pride in ensuring that customer service needs to remain number one in order to keep customers happy.   How bout we meet each other half way in terms of resolving this mess.  I have already returned this dangerous product at the request of yourself as well as your bully attorney with his empty threats of what he was going to do to me if I didn’t stand down from speaking freely about my horrible experience with both your products and what made it worse is that you, the owner, took zero liability that perhaps one, just one holster may have gotten past you sterile Quality Assurance checks coming out of that factory of yours.  I will once again state my concern, I I immediately contacted you once a found a serious and possibly deadly defect in your holster.  You made it clear that it was in no way your fault and that it must have been the manner in which I was placing my weapon in the holster to be placed too deep causing the magazine eject button to b engaged and causing the magazine to eject from my weapon.

Let’s agree on this, send me a holster that meets the specifics of my weapon and I will use it for 2 weeks that come back and write an honest review of the pros and cons that I have found with your product.  This seems fair to me and a chance for each of us to perhaps learn a bit more each others Unique needs.   If I in fact find no issues with your holster, I will go back to each of the site I reviewed your holster on and offer to edit my review to show that I have no issues with your item.  Any and all negative reviews will be removed at the end of 2 weeks.

I don't claim to be the only one with issues such as mine.  If you simply Google Bullseye Holsters you can easily find videos such as this one:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c5iuXxGq3g

I can say with certain this this gentleman also had a similar defective, faulty   and perhaps a deadly product produced by Bulleseyes holsters.  Send me a holster to use and hopefully it will change my mind and I will go out and become your biggest cheerleader in the manufacturing and quality control about the materials and craftsmanship you put in to your products.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, May 18, 2016

We at Bullseye Holsters,Inc. work very hard to provide the highest quality holsters that fit the needs of our customer. We have done so for tens of thousands of customers over the years. We occasionally encounter some customers that are not completely satisfied with their purchase. In those rare cases, we offer repair, replacement or a full refund of the purchase price. In this particular case, we attempted to resolve his complaint through normal operating procedures and even went so far as to offer to meet him at the dealer’s location to custom mold a holster for his specific firearm. The man refused all of our attempts. We have since learned that the person who wrote the report returned the holster he purchased to the dealer for a full refund prior to demanding that we furnish him with a replacement holster by mail. Clearly, our time and resources were wasted attempting to resolve a problem that did not exist. It is most unfortunate that this individual has found a forum to express his unfounded complaints but such is life in the new “information age.” Please rest assured that Bullseye Holsters,Inc. remains committed to providing the highest quality holsters to our customers and will continue to work to achieve the best possible result for our customers that are not completely satisfied with their purchase.
