I rented a car in the Springfield Ilinoise airport. I travel for a living so it's crazy this happened to me! While renting my car the agent never discussed extras like they always do! She was very professional and I was actually pleasantly surprised to not be getting the hard sell for all the extras! The last thing she said to me before I signed was...you accept total responsibility for insurance etc. I did think when I got in my car how we didn't have the usual pushy sales pitch. Opened up my envelope to read over my contract . Surprise my envelope was empty. Again I should have gone back in that instant! Clearly I was wrong to not read the fine print and just initial several places! She was definitely professional! A professional at collecting her commission based income! I had $250 in extras!!! I called the location and filed a report with the National Budget office. Of course I got no Where! I paid double for my rental! Warning to anyone renting a car! The agents make commission on selling the insurance and extras! Be careful sadly a few are making a career out of ripping you off!

No I wouldn't be writing back to accuse, insult or anything of that nature. But you did miss the entire point! Yes I'm in total agreement you should always read anything you sign! I travel weekly so I'm a very seasoned traveler. My point was two fold. What you stated sooo viciously and nasty (not necessary) in any forum or form of communication. Yes we should always read what we are signing clearly my fault. However the agent was very slick and dopped me with her verbiage. I was just trying to help others not loose money like I did. By warning others to not be tricked by what the agent says instead read carefully. So I agree with you.... But feel sorry for you

Its called, "READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN IT"!  I mean, really, how much common sense does it take to READ what it is you are agreeing to, BEFORE you agree to it?  As per your own admission...YOU decided to READ the contract AFTER you signed it!  Smart.  Real, real smart.  The clerk can pull anything they want but a SMART CONSUMER will READ the contract BEFORE signing it!

Since you won't like what I've said, let me save you some effort.  Don't bother writing back with the "you must work for them" immature nonsense, because I don't!
