Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was notified today by mail by CitiMortgage that my mortgage was transfered to a non-bank servicer (Green Tree) that is currently under federal investigation, has nmultiple class action law suits and racks up 1000's of consumer complaints monthly.

Some examples:

  • Multiple Class Action Law Suits (MA, CO, FL) for unfair and illeagal business practices
  • Documented evidence of illegal fees
  • Repeated failure to process mailed payments on-time
  • Phone harrassment of borrows in good standing do to poor back office systems and infrastructure
  • Violates Federal Laws regarding Fees, tax and insurance escrow
  • Over 200 cases documented on-line of Forced Home Owners Insurance Scams

As  Citimorgage client in good standing for over 10 years - I was not given any prior notice of of the transfer - the letter was mailed afer the transfer took place.  I have no ability to avoid the expense and personal distress of dealing with GreenTree while I try and seek refinancing with a reputable financial institution.

In short- my personal financial information was just handed over to criminals who have well documented and even recorded evidnece of their crimes and unfair business practices.  Why has this once trusted financial institution been able to compromise my financial stability and sanity with no warning or recourse.

So valid points you make with a few exceptions - The rip-off was that they comproised my personal and financial data by giving it over to Green Tree with no warning - I was notified after the fact.  I am aware that they were alowed to sell my mortgage but at the time I took out the mortgage - these non-regulated groups didnt exist nor was I notified that when my loan moved from Lehman to Citi that it was transfered to Fannie Mae putting me at higher risk for this (Double Rip-off). If I was disclosed these facts - I would have had the option to seek refinancing on better terms.

The facts I stated about Green Tree were edited to remove hear say and based on recorded evidence and available AG's office documents for the states currently pursuing them.

Although I am "at risk" you are correct that I have yet to be directly impacted other than a lot of stress.  I have a sibling going through this now with Green Tree based on the same circumstances except the orriginator was BoA- so my estimate of thousands of dollars is based on direct knowledge of that situation that mirrors my own.

You seem to be confused about a few things.

Why has this once trusted financial institution been able to compromise my financial stability and sanity with no warning or recourse.

- Because YOU agreed to it.  That's right, when you got your Mortgage one of the provisions in the loan was that you agree to let them sell or transfer your Mortgage to another company at any time and without prior notice nor your approval.

But let's go back to your examples...

Multiple Class Action Law Suits (MA, CO, FL) for unfair and illeagal business practices

- So just how many of those suits involve you?

Documented evidence of illegal fees

- How many illegal fees have you been charged?

Repeated failure to process mailed payments on-time

- How many on-time payments have you sent that were not processed?

Phone harrassment of borrows in good standing do to poor back office systems and infrastructure

- How many times have they "harrased" you on the phone?

Violates Federal Laws regarding Fees, tax and insurance escrow

- So in your case what specific laws did they violate?

Over 200 cases documented on-line of Forced Home Owners Insurance Scams

- So are you one of these 200 documented cases?

Do you see the point?  You are basically accusing them of doing things that in reality you have not experienced, and most of it are probably getting it from hearsay.  Now, yes some of it is probably true, but this site is called RipOff report not..well I haven't been ripped of yet..but.  Of course you are now going to give 101 reasons why these people are even bigger crooks than you originally posted and you don't want to wait until some of these things happen to you.

Well you want a shocker...go check out the track record of "Citibank" and their Mortgages.  You may be very surprised when you see the exact same "examples" you posted for GreenTree as issues people have with CitiMortgages.  So if Citi is so bad and apparently just as full of criminals why didn't you do what ever you could when you were with them to refianance?

Oh and no I do not work for Greentree, citi, nor any bank or finance company?
