Bluebird Letters (Abbey Monnin) Stole $100 advance; never delivered work Internet
Abbey has done work for me in the past (poorly) and offered to take care of some work I needed done. She said she needed $100 to do the work, and, shame on me, I gave it to her. She promised to have the work done in three days, but it has now been two weeks and she has not sent a single bit of it. At first she was giving me all kinds of excuses about her dog being sick and getting caught up with other things (she is a wannabe actress in LA in addition to being a writer for Bluebird Letters). I am pretty understanding so I let it go a little while longer, but I am fed up. Abbey has a Twitter account, where she posts quite regularly about things she's doing (watching movies, reading books, etc.) -- obviously things much more important than getting work done for the people that she owes money to.
Go to elance or something and find someone else (a professional, perhaps) to take care of your work. Abbey might not ever get to it. And whatever you do, don't give her any money until you have work in your hands.
