I am currently suing Blockbuster over this issue. They are likely to offer full refunds related to this. If you would like a full refund as well please contact me at [email protected] or (347)326-1798. No action will be required on your part.

As I work for blockbuster myself I see this all the time. When you bring in movies late its 99 plus tax as a daily rental fee. When you created a blockbuster account you signed that you had read the terms and conditions. Also when you pay with a card it gives you two questions one asking if the amount is ok, then the second asks if you will allow any additional daily rentals fees to be autocharged to the card you're paying with at the time. Most people I see will press yes without reading. And it sure does give you the opportunity to say no. I'm nice enough to tell people what its saying but its honestly your fault if you rush and don't read things before you sign. And if you bring them back later than you agreed to, and then they charge you the agreed upon price then thats on you, regardless. Though I will say the manager made a mistake there and went with a rediculous excuse., she didn't seem to know what you were reffering to lol. Read the terms and read the prompts guys.

Have you noticed that most people rent movies and from experience don't return them. I have a video store and I have noticed that customers get upset because they are made responsible for movies that are not returned and or are late. The Moral of the story is.. it costs money when you keep the movie and you had three ---
$4.00 day X 3 = $12 a day x 8 days $96 in lost income for the company
or you can look at it as that 7 people weren't able to see the movie because you didn't return it... Now if you kept those three movies... $25 fee because there is time, gas. tax and the purchase of the new movie to replace the one you kept. So you cost them $96 & $75 = $171 in lost revenue .. which means it's $171 not going towards someones paycheck, bills or movies.
Now when you have 360 people who don't return and did the same thing you did -- you know it cost them $61,650.00 now that is a big lost.
So when you don't think what you did makes an effect ... it does.
Sometimes we don't see the longterm effects of when we are late with movies. Then when they have to close YOU will be the first to say.. I don't understand why

I haven't been reading much on the company.
Blockbuster will be history anyway because of netflix and red box. Seen a lot of red box all over the Philadelphia area.
Whom ever thought of the idea was a genius hate to say it.

Credit cards have been updated physically for the last three years at stores. Did you ever pay attention when they asked to update it or did you just hand it to them thinking they were charging you? Honestly, I've had at least 1 customer a week give me their card after I asked to update and they think I'm charging them right then and there. Ugh. Just pay attention to the people helping you.

If you have the internet go to VUZE.com and get all your movies from there for free. I haven't rented a movie in years! As long as you do not sell the movies it is legal.
