Bill Heard Chevrolet, Union City, Georgia Otis Poole using unethical & deceiptful business practices to acquire sales Union City Georgia
August, 2007 after receiving numerous advertisements to help reestablish credit from Bill Heard Chevrolet in Union City, GA I decided to visit the dealership to look around.
After looking around, the salesman suggested I just apply for credit to see what automobile I might qualify for which I agreed.
Otis Poole one of the Sales Manager's came into the Salesman Office, Keith Vance and advised me I qualified for anything on the lot. I decided to try for the 2007 Chevy Equinox, LS.
We discussed what kind of car note I would be comfortable with, I stated I could afford around a $ 400.00 a month car note. He took the application to one of the Financial Officers, Dennis McFadden and later returned to me again with the processed loan contract. However, there was a problem, the note was much higher than we disccussed and agreed upon.
I asked Otis why was the payment so much higher,that I would be willing to try for something less. He stated not to worry, in order to get the loan with no down payment I would only have to pay the higher note for about 4 months and he assured me he would get the loan refinanced. I again told Mr. Poole emphatically I could not afford this car past the 4 month period.
He looked me dead in my eyes, and stated " you make these payments and I promise you I'll get your payments to what we discussed, this is not uncommon and I can you refinanced with no problem", with that we shook hands.
Being Bill Heard Chevrolet has several large dealerships and is well known in the area I felt comfortable entering the contract on the assurance Mr. Poole was a reputable business man representing a reputable Company.
I struggled to make the payments however after numerous atttempts to contact him, I went to the dealership and spoke with Otis but he recanted his story advising me I at least had to make 6 payments. I then asked him "now Otis you do remember what we discussed and what you told me about getting my loan refinanced for a lower note, he then took my hand and said " make at least 2 more payments, come back and see me and I promise I'll take care of it".
I came back February 2008 and was told Mr. Poole was no longer with the Company as well as Mr. McFadden. Apparently he had been using unethical & deceiptful business practices to acquire sales and was fired. With this my heart sunk, now I'm stuck with this note.
For a representative of any business to lie to a customer and shake on a deal is shameful and dishonest. I went out on a limb on good faith with what I thought was a reputable Company only to be deceived.
Bill Heard Chevrolet should make good on their word being Mr. Pool was a representative of the dealership and they should not continue to get away with bad business practices. I have made numerous attempts to get this resolved to no avail. Hopefully they will do the right thing.
