You can go to another place that is an authorized dealer for the brand of tires you have (possibly even the car dealer). Have all your paperwork in order. Theoretically the tire dealer needn't give you a hard time because the manufacturer will pay for new tires to replace the defective ones. If it shakes that violently you could take someone from the tire store on a test drive rather than just showing them a test by the dealer that they may not understand.

I was just doing a search for my Big O Tire Store's phone number to verify whether they can check my tires today. To my suprise the complaint which I am sending this rebuttal to popped up on the internet and I had to respond. We have been going to the store on 75th Ave. now for 5 years and ALWAYS receive great product and services. I am bringing our car in today because my wife is driving to L.A. tomorrow. In fact, we make several road trips to L.A. a year knowing that we are safe driving with Big O Tires purchased and maintained by this store on 75th Ave. My only complaint is that their phone # did not come up on my search.

Big O Tires is a franchise store. This means that their is an owner. The machine you are referring to is a "Road Force Variation Balancer" I am personally very familiar with this piece of equipment. I am not taking sides. However I have one of these machines in my shop. I do know it to be true that variations in mounting techniques can skew results. I write this from first hand experience. I had to be retrained. I know that this probably sounds elementry but this machine requires more that your average scrub to operated in correctly. It sounds as though the owner might not be able to afford such a piece of equipment. They are about three times the cost of a normal balancer. The majority of Big O Tires do have a ride guarantee on them. Honestly it should have not gotten past that. Number two: Find the owner. Five hundred dollars is a lot of money and believe me he should be interested in helping. Further there is a 1-800 number you can call to register a complaint against this store. The owner does not want to have outstanding complaints against his store. One final not there is no "tire Yoda". If there was believe me he would not be working in a store, he would be an engineer designing the stupid things. I hope this helps. If not move to Salt Lake and I would be happy to help. I am joking! I watch for your responce to see if I can help more. SMILE-there only tires.
