Big Boys are criminals! They lie to you on the phone, to get you to come out there for their services. Once you come out they tell you that you need this, that, and the other. They take your money, don't do what you paid for, and give you a time on when they will return it.

They told me that all I need was a signer, we went to sign, they took my money and never called me to say that I needed a co-signer. When I called back, that is when they informed me I needed a co-signer. I then, had a friend sign. They said they needed to run her credit, they also claimed her credit was bad.

Although, the very next day, she purchased a 40,000 car.

To make a long story short, I called the National Insurance Commission and National Bails Bond Commission, so they would return my money.

They will rip you off, watch out for these criminals.

Guess who?

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, September 04, 2012

Having worked at big boyz bail bonds at the time this post was found by them on the web, I can attest that the first response was in fact written by ross, the owners son....I have since left Big Boyz and moved on from their reign of terror around baltimore and its suburbs.  they have lied, connived, sued, swindled, stolen, and continually misled the citizens of baltimore not thousands but undreds of thousands of times!!!

This company is in fact exactly what you would expect to get when you have a bunch of rich snotty children of a millionaire taking money out of the hands of poor citizens in a poor city whom they have absolutely no respect for.  They will lie and tell these people ANYTHING they want to hear to get them into the office and take their money, at which point they let them leave the office thinking that the bail is getting done, Hours later they call back asking for more money or sometimes dont call back at all.

this is what is known in the sales world as the "bait and switch" and is horrible business practice and should be outlawed.  now that they have your money tied up they can demand anything they want from you and refuse to give your money back until the following friday, thus not allowing you to take your money to another more legitimate bonds company to free your loved one.  I have watched for years the most illegitimate, underhanded business practices happen at this company.  It never used to be like this until the owner Paul let his wet behind the ears, snotty stuck up grandchildren run the business and treat the average joe like he was trash under their feet!

It was obvious when I read this that this came from someone in the industry. Consumers beware of bail bond companies that operate this way. Yes, I am sure that they "BBBB" have helped thousands of defendants BUT no one deserves to be jerked around! One bad apple ..........

I totally agree. Big Boyz Bail Bonds in Baltimore were rude from the start. They all had attitudes and very unprofessional from their demeanor and appearance to the inside of their office.

They wouldn't give me a copy of what I had just signed. The agreement and terms we just made and I had just signed they quickly took away and when I asked for a copy they treated me like I was an idiot! They said why would they give me a copy and I said because it is our agreement and my signature is on it! They said 'but then they wouldn't have a copy of it' -- MADE NO SENSE AT ALL!

Then after having gone through 3 peoples names to get approved for the bond, they call me back the next day accusing ME of lying to them because one of the people who signed for the bond was receiving disability.  They never asked us, didn't think it mattered, we had 3 different people sign for the bond. We never lied to them, the accusation was very rude and uncalled for. I understand they had to do a credit check but one of us had already qualified for the credit check and we had 2 extra people on there. No one lied to them. You ask for names and general info for the credit check that YOU run yourself, we can't lie about anything its all in the credit report you see for yourself. Being called a liar by a business is never good.

Now about 3 years later, they are saying that we still owe them money. None of us ever got anything from Big Boyz Bail Bonds saying that we owed, or that we were late or anything. Just years later they want to take us to court. And clever Big Boyz.. never gave us a copy of any agreement so here we are stuck with no paper work and a court case.

Please do yourself a huge favor and do not endorse Big Boyz Bail Bonds. Save yourself a headache and don't use their services. They are crooks.

I have used big boyz bail bonds countless times for friends to get out on bail and have never had any experience with them like this. From my experience, they are friendly and very knowledgable people when it comes to the many confusions the bail bonds business can present to an unfamiliar customer.

I know that everyone wants to get out on bail for 1% down. What many people don't understand is that not everyone is qualified for 1% down. Think about it, the company is going out on a limb and taking full liability for the person's appearance in court, and only accepting a miniscule percent down on the bail. Big Boyz cannot do this for everybody, they need to make sure the bond is secure and a good business proposition prior to shelling out $40k for someone that lives in Frederick County for example.

Everything gets clearly explained to all people who come in to do paperwork for a bail, I know from experience because I have done it again and again. Its when people don't understand the process and are not deemed qualified for 1% they get upset and look to the company to blame. What I always say, is if you want results you have to sometimes be willing to pay for it. I know Im not qualified for 1% so I never put it down with the company, i give them 2 or 3% and they take care of it no problem, and work with me on a payment plan.

I always tell people to use Big Boyz because they are one of the few legitimate companies in Maryland. Particularly in Baltimore, there are so many "fly by night" bail bondsmen fielding calls on their cell phones and working out of their vehicles. They take your money and then their # is all of a sudden disconnected. Big Boyz has 4 office locations and one 24 hour location where someone is always there to answer your call or help you out when you need to post bail.

This complaint about Big Boyz is laughable and this person has no understanding of how the bail bonds business works. There are countless reasons a bail can be not approved, it is not based off of credit alone, buying a car isn't quite the same as securing a bail bond...
