Bidz.com is such a major rip-off that it has been reported countless times on this site and you can also Google the company and read still more.  Actually I had shopped on bidz.com for years and the company used to be a rather great auction site.  For instance they used to offer an immediate $25 credit to people when they first signed up for this popular jewelry auction site.  In addition to that they used to offer a $25 credit from time to time for registered users for no apparent reason.  They no longer offer any type of incentive to join the auction site, but worse changes than that are very evident:

Their shipping and handling prices which used to sometimes be free and were at least reasonable have jumped to an automatic $10 or more.  In the first place who ever heard of having to pay $10 to ship a pair of ear rings or a ring that weighs a mere couple of ounces?!

The next MAJOR problem with the site is that it is obviously "seller driven" in that there is a secret setting for "maximum bid" that a seller can set and then the seller is guaranteed that the item will NOT sell for anything LESS than his own set price!  This is a very classic and common rip-off scam!

Secondly only an idiot would ever waste his time looking at the bidz.com "suggested retail price".  This company must get those prices from Mars or Jupiter!  They are all so fake and way, WAY out of range that it makes you wonder what kind of a fool would actually believe them, or even anywhere NEAR them.

The jewelry items are often shoddy at best!  They are simply put the very cheapest cut stones in very poor settings for the most part.  More likely than not that gorgeous ring you are bidding on will have the very lowest quality gemstone in it and the cut will be off or done very poorly.  It would almost seem that they are selling jewelry store REJECTS.

My final advice is DO NOT buy an electronic watch from this company unless you don't really mind that you are very likely to have to take it to a jewelry store right out of the box and have the battery replaced.

On a final POSITIVE note I can only say that Customer Service is good, except you should expect a major hassle if you are planning on returning an item to them.  In the case of a return pay VERY close attention to all of their instructions or you will just wind up with even more headaches and stress.  The company often will respond to you with a standard form letter that will NOT tell you what you need to know.  It is best to call them but very suspicious because I don't think that they even offer a toll-free 1-800 number, so plan to spend money to even talk to them about a problem.

Final analysis is that this company has gone way, WAY, WAY!!!! downhill to the point that this avid fan and often times site user no longer even checks to find out what they have!  I would highly advise you to just pass this site on by and go to EBay or other top auction sites who often hike up their shipping prices and also have "ghost biddings" on items that have been pre-placed by the seller also.  In jewelry and other auctions it is much like going to Las Vegas......GOOD LUCK!!  You might just win an item fair and square that is worth many times more than you paid for it, but be careful of those "slot machine sellers" who are nothing more than one-armed internet bandits!!
