Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

If you are planning to purchase any new furniture please ask who manufactures the item. If it was made by Best Home Furnishings "DON’T BUY IT”. In March 2015 I purchased a leather couch with dual electric activated recliners made by them. I also purchased a 5 year warranty from another company. In a short period of time one of the recliner motors failed. I contacted the warranty company and they handled it very well. Except for the slow shipment of the parts from Best Furniture.

Next one of the seat cushions material started peeling between it and the other cushion. Again the warranty company handled it correctly. Best Furniture was the bottle neck in getting the new cushion cover in a timely manner. Next the other two cushions started having the same problem and again my experience was the same. In May 2019 the right recliner failed to work and the material on the left arm rest started to peel. Again the warranty company handled it well.

After waiting several weeks for the parts and material for the arm rest they finally arrived. When the warranty company sent out the repair person he discovered the arm rest material had a black indelible marker line across it. Then re discovered they didn’t ship all the parts to repair the recliner activator. All from Best Home Furnishings. So they were reordered. This was on July 5, 2018 (remember my problem started in early May and I still didin’t have use of that side of my couch) Again after a long wait I called the warranty company about the items to repair my couch and they advised me they were still waiting for the items from Best Home Furnishings.

Out of frustration I researched the executives of Best Home Furnishings and found a Mr. S Curtis the Vice President of Operations. I sent him an email outlining my concerns over the quality of the product and asked about a replacement because I was concerned with all the problems the couch will continue to fail after my warranty expired. Having a background in Procurement and manufacturing quality I felt he needed to know and would address the issue. BOY WAS I MISTAKEN!

On 9 July I received an E Mail from Barbara King in their customer service department basically saying they were sorry I was not satisfied and go back to the store you purchased it from as that is up to them to settle this. I sent her a note back saying this was not a store problem as it is a serious quality problem in there manufacturing. (cc; Mr. Curtis.) They never responded. I also indicated that the Store said it was a warranty company issue and they said they would not replace the couch as long as they could get parts.

In the meantime Best Home Furniture shipped the parts short the clips and buttons that were clearly spelled out in the order on 28 August. Remember I am still waiting since early May. So that day I sent another E Mail to Barbara King pleading for help. That same day she replied and asked for the serial number off the couch as she wanted to look into it. No reply. On 18 September I received the buttons from Best Home Furnishings without the retaining clips that were clearly spelled out in the order.

So I immediately sent Ms. King an E Mail asking for assistance. Here is her reply. "This was handled through Hudson’s Furniture. They requested the parts. Please contact Hudson’s.” So in essence Best Home Furniture will not stand behind their own product quality issues and care less about helping a customer even if it is simply support in getting the right parts in a timely manner. I sent her a note saying the Store has done their part, the warranty company has done their part and the only issue in taking care of this is poor quality of product and shipping parts.

As of today 20 September I am still waiting for help and the correct parts to fix my couch going in to 5 months now.

It keeps getting worse

On 27 September the repair man fixed the couch again. That same evening another failure of a different component occurred. As of this update it has been 22 days and counting without use of the couch again! Finally tomorrow the warranty company will send out a technition to diagnose the problem and order parts. So I will keep waiting.

By the way the warranty is something I purchased (thank god) and not the manufacturers warranty. I notified Best Home Furnishings today of another failure and again aske them to replace my couch. We will see how they respond!
