Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Had a failure of a charging port on an ASUS laptop still under warranty. ASUS directed me to take it back to Best Buy store Geek Squad where I purchased same and they would either repair or replace. I specifically asked if they would need to touch the hard drive and specifically stated they were not to lose any data. I was assured that they would only replace the component and not the hard drive.

The computer was returned without the hard drive, without my data, without my programs and with a hard drive of inferior size to the one I had purchased.

I contacted Best Buy and after a run around was referred to the local store from the Louisville repair center. The local store stated that they would endeavor to get the hard drive and said that getting it and/or the data should be no problem and they could transfer the data to my laptop and would check and make sure that the HDD was of the size of the one I had originally purchased.

Waited approximately 1 month and then was told they did not have the HDD, they did not have the data, and I was just out of luck for trusting that they were competent enough to do a warranty repair for ASUS without buggering it up. No offer of amelioration, no offer to attempt to make it right just a "Hey we're sorry "S" happens".

So, is Best Buy incompetent? Are theyThieves? Use bad faith as a business model? From my viewpoint, they are all these things and likely have gotten away with this type of many other times in the past. Their repair depot in Louisville Kentucky is totally incompetent and rude to boot. The local store in Oxford, AL wanted to do the right thing but are totally subservient to their corporate masters and the repair depot and are therefore of a little or no assistance to correct or ameliorate the actions of Best Buy Geek Squad through local efforts. In other words, they are powerless.

So it's "go see a lawyer" and also start an internet jihad against Best Buy and their practice of ripping people off since getting bent over by the Best Buy goniffs is not my idea of sound business practice.
