Bought an M6805 Emachines laptop from Best Buy along with a Best Buy extended warranty (PSP). Machine has been sent back three times to Emachines for overheating and crashing.

Last month two of the usb ports stopped working and machine continues to overheat and crash. At first Best Buy (Geek Squad) said it was a covered repair. Two days later they said the laptop had to be shipped out to have the motherboard replaced. Two weeks later another "technician" called and said that it would not be covered and would cost $6oo to repair.

Best Buys extended warranty states that repairs due to normal wear and tear are covered. Additionally, if a repair can't be made, the machine will be replaced. To me it's obvious that Best Buy says whatever is expedient to get out of their responsibilities. I have written Best Buy and told them I want them to repair the laptop or replace it. I have also filed a complaint with the PA Atty. Gen., Consumer Affairs Dept.

At the VERY least, I urge everyone NOT to waste your money buying a Best Buy Extended Warranty. It's more worthless than Confederate Bank Notes.

In the Best Buy PSP it has a clause called No Lemon which is mandatory in every state. It states that if a coputer is repired under the psp 3 times, on the 4th time they must verify the problem then replace it with a new one of compareable technology or equal price. At that point the contract (PSP) is fulfiled. You will have to buy a new PSP on the new computer if you want one. Home this helps.
