Beltone Hearing Aid Center - KaimukiHawaii.com expensive, uncomfortable when using the phone or even iphone, buzzing, echoing Honolulu Hawaii
In October 2012, I got fired from a job because I couldn't hear too well. I went to look for place for hearing evaluation and only heard of Beltone Hawaii. I was not working, since 2009. HMSA covered the evaluation. I was tested and fitted with the most expensive and what seemed comfortable, since I had nothing to compare with.
After learning that it was the top of line, I asked what else, because of finances and I have no income. I was fit with a lower line. It was still expensive 6500.00 which I had to take out from my Edward Jones account and I was taxed heavily for that. HMSA covered 2700.00.
One year passed and batteries were not covered anymore and additional payment for batteries, which last for one week. After going to the appointments to adjust, due to buzzing, still can't hear that well, uncomfortable, static in some places, just irritating.
One almost 2nd year, I feel ripped off. How can you know what it's supposed to be like in only 30 days for a refund? I am going today for adjustment appointment and see if I can return it. I am supposed to leave it on all day, but the most I can is only 4 hours and then I have to remove it. Owner, Glen Jay, don't seem to very supportive as they were in the beginning. The 2 year mark of October 2014, will stop covering for anything re: hearing aids.
Don't buy Beltone. Expensive.

I am in the process of researching hearing aids to replace my existing aids."Hearing PLanet" tried to direct me to a Beltone dealer after I said I wanted Rexton aids. That would be like sending me to a Ford dealer to buy a Dodge. Beltone is a franchise which one can (according to their site) acquire for a measly $10,000. I then noted way over a hundred complaints on the internet involving Beltone.

Issue [1]" To get to the point of this missive, I take note the Better Business Bureau has Beltone listed A+. What a joke.

[Issue 2] The local BBB wouldn't process a complaint I had with a local contractor who caused serious damage to my property and then flat out lied about it. I was told by the local BBB (quote) "__________ __________ has a good record with us and we'd rather not put a blemish on their record".

The Better Business Bureau is considerably worse than nothing! It is ALSO A FRANCHISE! Checking out any business with the BBB will usually provide totally worthless information at best, and false and purposefully fallacious at the worst (their usual). Sadly, many people still mistakenly think the BBB is some kind of valid authority, possibly involved with the government. NOTHING could be farther from the truth.

The national BBB lists (on their site) : Revenue $215,000,000. and 2500 "employees".
