Bellsouth False advertising & hidden costs in their great value plans offer no value Orlando, Florida Nationwide
Bellsouth advertising offers competetive new calling plans at affordable rates. WRONG!! I elected to return to Bellsouth last month due to their great advertised offers. I requested the Complete Choice Plan with Unlimited Long Distance.
After I switched services I received my first bill with a charge for local long distance at a rate of .25 per call. The additional cost was $7.00. I thought it was a error but it was not. For some odd reason this month is also $7.00. They said certain areas within my local calling area would be billed due to their lack of towers. (They never mentioned this when I switched & there is no indication on their web site.)
Needless to say I contacted Supra Telecom to take over service but I would like a refund of the additional costs including the 25% in tax that is associated with their poor business practice.

standard practice to adjust local useage charges

BellSouth Long distance does not use towers. This is not cellular service. Your lpic code may have been incorrect, which repair could have tested and corrected for you. Either way it is standard practice to adjust local useage charges made after unlim ld is added to the line if they were charged in error. Please make sure that when you are dialing any long distance number that you use 1+area code+ the number. The 1 is what indicates it should go through your long distance plan (this is the same no matter who your long distance company is). I hope this clarifies things for you.
