CONSUMER BEWARE! BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM WITH BED TECH iRETREAT MATTRESSES. I purchased a Bed Tech hybrid mattress from Jay at sleep centers mattress who claims he is the owner of this business. The mattress was nothing like the demo unit on display which was soft and plush. It took me 10 days to get the BED TECH base and mattress I bought and the mattress was extremely hard from day 1. I went back the day after it was delivered to return it and Jay told me to sleep on it a few days claiming the bed would get soft -it never did-. I then kept calling the store for A MONTH and no response whatsoever and Jay kept avoiding my phone calls. FINALLY, I posted a review online about my experience with this business and right after the post Jay called me claiming he called the mattress company and they had authorized a return but that he could only give me half my money back.
Jay went ahead and scheduled a day and time to pick up the mattress and a day before the pick up he called me saying they were not going to take the mattress back. -Jay recommended I donate the mattress to charity if I didn't like it -I paid $1250 for the base and mattress- I then contacted the manufacturer Desert industries llc dba Bed Tech and Easy Rest and the owner a James Kelly retained a lawyer who wrote out a settlement agreement that they were going to refund me $500 for the mattress if I waived any rights I have to ever sue them, to remove reviews, return the bad mattress, etc. The agreement their lawyer drafted is so ridiculous that if I ever mention the words BED TECH in my life I can get sued for damages. Neither the retailer nor manufacturer offered absolutely anything as a matter of customer service with regards to the mattress.
I don't want to sell the mattress to anyone because I would be defrauding them. This mattress is harder than those $100 all spring mattresses and its impossible to sleep in. I am looking into filing a lawsuit against bed tech and this retailer. Please contact me if you have had a similar experience with the BED TECH IRETREAT MATTRESS. PS they own another company called EASY REST, go on glassdoor and look at the 65 reviews former employees have written on this company ... They basically go door to door selling these mattresses to elderly people and rip them off putting them in debt and delivering sub par mattresses with zero return policies, you will see words like 'con job', 'bait and switch', 'ridiculous', 'greedy', 'soul less' etc regarding EASY REST and their business practices. Employees working up to 80 hours a week and not getting paid even 40.
