During the summer of 2016, we contacted Bath Fitter Winnipeg.  We had concerns of installing one of their products due to regular 'shifting' in our seasonal home.

It was recommended that we discuss this with the Bath Fitter consultant, since shifting 'could' occur and it was not covered under the warranty (note:  This warranty is not stated on their invoice/brochure.  It only was mentioned in their e-mail correspondence AFTER we asked the specific questions about shifting).

We discussed the shifting with the Bath Fitter consultant.  We provided examples of the shifting (doors difficult to open and close).   We did NOT CONSENT to the installation until this consultant conferred with another co-worker at Bath Fitter Winnipeg in regards to the suitability of the product and the shifting of our residence.     AFTER receiving the phone call that the product was deemed suitable for our location, we authorized the installation  date.

Initially, we were pleased with the renovation.  We closed our seasonal home after 2 months.   In February 2017, we went to our seasonal home.   We were shocked and disappointed with the cracks that were between the wall and the bathtub.

We phoned/e-mailed Bath Fitter Winnipeg about the damage.   We were told by the sales manager that this damage was not covered by the 'warranty.'    We mentioned we were aware of this but this product was deemed suitable prior to the installation.

We depended upon and relied on the judgment and expertise of the Bath Fitter product.   Had the consultant not phoned after consulting with another staff member assuring us of the suitability of the product, we would NEVER have had this Bath Fitter product installed.

We were also informed in February 2017, that there is a 'high volume' of maintenance calls between $110 and $140.    This was the first time service calls was mentioned to us.    We question the integrity of a company who would omit such important information to consumers.

The service manager told us that Bath Fitter Winnipeg would repair the damage for $110.00.   Later, during the phone call this fee was waived.    We did not accept this 'band-aid' solution since we realized this shifting would be an ongoing.

We contacted the Better Business Bureau of Winnipeg.   The dispute remains unresolved.   The entire contents can be read on the webpage.   Bath Fitter Winnipeg will have this complaint on their profile until April 2020.

We remain dissatisfied with Bath Fitter Winnipeg based on the misrepresentation and omission of pertinent information from the consultant which directly influenced our decision to proceed with the bathroom renovation.

We would NOT RECOMMEND BATH FITTER WINNIPEG TO OTHER CONSUMERS.
