Bath Fitter Dumont NJ Bob Jay (manager)Plumber (unknown name) Plumber set hot water temp at tepid. Denied me hot water because "illegal" and "fear of lawsuit". Dumont New Jersey
On 7/28/16 Bath Fitters in Dumont NJ remodeleled my bathtub, but stupidly turned the hot water temperature down to tepid so I can never have hot water again. No hot shower or bath ever again.
"For my own good" they claim. The hot water in my kitchen sink and bathroom sink remains very hot as it was untouched by Bath Fitter plumber. But the Bath Fitter plumber set the bathtub hot water to slightly above body temperature out of company's selfish fear of being sued for being scalded in the future. This is the weak reason they gave. Manager and staff repeated this reason.
"Fear of being sued." "Illegal". Is this nonsense or what? They should really be scared of having a disgruntled client like me on their hands. Now that Dumont Bath Fitters has been paid in full they blew me off. Tough luck they say.
Go do it yourself. We do not want the responsibility.

While I get it youre a woman, that doesnt mean that YOU are weak or helpless in ANY WAY!!!!The plumber is correct, IF they set the water too high YOU would sue them. SO in order to fix this issue YOU have to turn up the temp on your water heater. A plumber will do it for the service call. A family member could do it for free. Maybe a neighbor will help you out. Instead of WHINING because THEY dont TRUST YOU NOT TO SUE, you could find someone to help you out. Im sure since YOU appear to be able to get on the web and use a website that YOU should be able to Google the make and model of your water heater and find a manual and turn it up yourself. Instead of WHINING that THEY didnt put themselves in danger of YOU sueing them by doing it for you. I swear I cant believe how people like YOU get along in life!!! LEARN TO BE MORE SELF RELIANT!!!! Its NOT difficult!!! STOP letting YOUR FEAR keep you from being happy. On a side note, since YOU CHOSE to put thier names out on the web then YOU get to deal with the repercusions of that choice. Its called defamation and those people would be well within THIER RIGHTS to sue YOU for what YOU CHOSE to do online. YOU do NOT have the right to potentially put THEM in danger all because they wouldnt turn a KNOB for YOU! It only goes to show YOUR ISSUES and NOT that they are scamming YOU in ANY WAY!!! THEY must protect themselves AND you.
