BANK ONE RIPS OFF EMPLOYEES!
This is a WARNING to any potential Bank One Employees... I was a Bank One Mortgage Loan Officer, (in National Direct Equity Division), from 3/99 through 11/99. My story is not unique, as they have done the same thing to over 20 of my fellow co-workers. In addition to my regular salary, I was paid commissions based on my loan volume. I signed a written commission structure agreement in 4/99, (which I kept a copy of), and was paid according to the agreement through 10/99. On 11/04/99 management announced that they were changing how commissions were to be paid, (which an employer has every right to do), but what the Bank did was illegal. They made the effective date of change retroactive for loans sold in October. As a result, they refusded to pay me in excess of $13,000.00 in commissions that I had earned. All of the loans that I sold were funded and completed within the time frame for commissions to be paid. They also did this to over 20 other employees in my division. (Coincidently, we were among the highest volume producers in the nation, (the top 28 in a division with over 500 loan officers). Needless to say, they have tried every double-speak and deception that they could think of, and are still refusing to pay us. To date several of us have filed individual law suits against Bank One. I will recover 3 times what they owe me plus attorneys fees! The process will take a couple of years to be completed, but I will prevail. My attorney is also a Judge in my state and having had him as my personal attorney for nearly 20 years, I trust his opinion. He has told me that the facts demonstrated by my documentation will easily win the case. It is just a matter of time and patience. BEWARE OF BANK ONE, THEIR PROMISES ARE NOT WORTH THE PAPER THEY ARE WRITTEN ON!!!
