Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We had owned our home for 6 years when we contacted Bank of America requesting assistance in lowering our mortgage as it was no longer affordable due to income loss. We were not behind yet and were advised to get behind in order to qualify for the make-home-affordable program and applied for all options available. We were guaranteed assistance and told not to refinance with any other bank as they would get us the best rates. So we passed up on the other options we had through other institutions.

Well we applied as instructed but we did this at least ten times over the course of the next two years because every time they had an excuse such as we didn't sign or it was late or not recieved. This was all bogus. They have done this to thousands of people including a few other people we personally know and now that its too late Bank of America employees are coming forward saying they were receiving cash bonuses and gift cards for disposing of paperwork and putting homes into foreclosure. I spent hours on the phone with Bank of America doing what I was supposed to, calling every week to check status and yet notes were deleted from our account showing this. I had an employee tell me to get lawyers to deal with this because he said our account seemed fishy. So we did only to get ripped off by them!

It wasn't until 6 months after contacting them that we finally could not make full payments and were told to send what we could in order to show good intentions and to qualify us. We sent multiple checks that they cashed but never applied to our mortgage. When I contacted them about this they said we no longer accept partial payments and that the money would not be applied until we were brought current. They couldn't tell me where the money went but that it was floating as they called it. Eventually after being put through the ringer over and over they said foreclosure was the only option left and once we recieved the letter we would have 30-45 days to vacate depending on the underwriter. They kept changing our case worker and we were not getting calls back when I left multiple messages asking what kind of timeframe we were looking at as we have two small children and didn't want to have to move in winter. We waited 3 months for a call back which we did not receive and finally vacated as fall was here.

After moving we have continued to check on our property and to our surprise they changed our back door locks and the window next to it was shattered. They had papers on the front door with all of our information on it for everyone to see. This is illegal. After they found out we moved then they began hounding us with multiple copies of the same letters but at this point we have to file bankruptcy as when we were making payment we had to choose that over other bills to save the most important thing, our home. That backfired and we have lost everything. The worst part was Bank of America was aware my husband had been layed off Christmas eve, our 5 month old son was in the hospital requiring multiple brain surgeries and more. We had never once been late and bought the house when I was 19. We never gave a reason to be put through this and now they are disputing our bankruptcy!!!!!!

There is even more to it than this but they need to be sued but obviously we don't have money!!!! Do not deal with them!!!!!!
