Even if in Lori's original complaint it was just an example, it was still an example of the person overdrafting. She did not say, I have $500.00 and they gave me a fee on a $499.00 check (lets say that is all she had coming thru Knothing else, just this one check) because that would be a rip off, what she said and I will post below is she knowingly overdrafted her account (see below for cut and past of original complaint), in fact her complaint was not about how much the fee was, she stated in the original post how much the fee was herself, her complaint was the bank charged largest to smallest, causing more fees. ***Example: Your balance is $499. A check goes through for $500. On the same day, a debit or check goes in for $20, one for $10 and one for $4.*** Original post, Lori Dallas, Texas U.S.A., 6/8/2006 6:19:37 PM In this example the customer had $499.00 but spent $534.00. The customer spent more money than they had available, it does not matter how the bank posts the items, and if you don't spend money you don't have you will not receive any fees. It is very simple and logical. You only have $499.00 so that is all you spend, if you spend more than you will receive fees, but you did it by choice. There was not a bank employee there forcing you to write checks and swipe your card. Again, it is time for consumers to start taking personal responsibility and accountability and stop blaming the banks for there bad judgment. Why make a brand new post, give everyone the opportunity to read Lori's original complaint and make up their own mind.
