I'm not sure exactly when my checking account was closed by BoA, but it was initiated by the bank. I found this out when I received an ATM card from BofA and when I went to the bank to use my debit card, it no longer worked. So I used my new atm card to withdrawal money from their atm. This card worked. I inquired about my account at the branch, and was told I only have a savings account now. After some confusion, I just brushed it off and try to look at the positive, I'll be able to save my money easier vs. My debit card. This happened around Nov 2017, give or take a week, but after I received my second withdrawal limit fee of $30, I'm thinking what the ****... I printed my account statement and remembered whenever I had withdrawn money from my account, ilthe atm told me I had 5 times to withdrawal before a fee. Ok? As I audited my account I noticed that my "savings" didn't have a distinct statement cycle date and the fees I accrued posted in various dates and very inconsistent. I called the amazing customer service line. The first lady was the most rude person I ever interacted with, luckily the phone call was dropped. The second lady was a whole differ t story. Not only did this lady contradict her previous statements, she had zero comprehension and problem solving skills. I asked why I'm getting $30 withdrawal fee, when I only withdrew 5 times with in a month like the atms state. This question took her for a whirlwind. She never answered my question and after about 39 minutes of her huffing and puffing, the phone call was recorded on both ends, she got so worked up trying to talk over me that she could hardly catch her breath. Long story short, BofA never sent me a notification 45 days in advance letting me know my checking account was closed and that I had different terms and agreements with this new card. I was then told that transfers count as withdrawals. Really? The transfers she referenced were my direct deposits into the account and I never exceeded 5 withdrawal. I was also told that I get 6 withdrawals before any fees ...is anyone else catching this? Then for the amount of withdrawals and transfers, total = 9, I was charged the difference. 9-6=3 Where the $30 fee comes into play. But the previous month I only had 4 withdrawal and was charged $30. No one has answered why that is. Overall, why am I being penalized for their initiation of closing and opening accounts with terms and agreements I have never once received? Why is it so easy for BofA to continue gwttijng away with their scams, I mean policies for their various banking accounts?
