This complaint is the first I ever did have to pursue with regarding Bally Total Fitness, 15401 N 29 Av

Phoenix AZ 85053 602-993-3366. I thought that after not hearing from them for such a long time they finally did take my letter in consideration and decided to make something wrong into something right.

Now I realize that the reason I have not heard from them was because I moved so much due to military reasons, and just probably missed out on what contact they did try to make. I received a phone call from one of their collection agency representatives, and found out they are still harassing me for the money they think I owe them. For their services they did offer, such as lies, and misleading, ignoring everything that was presented to them. Or should I say it was their representative who did that, people they chose as trainers, trained him to do, and they did nothing but back him up. They ignored my contacts over the phone, and my letters. I called and wrote to them regarding my situation.

This entire incident happened quite a while ago. It's been about 5 years now, and I'm back to the beginning again. I thought it would have been enough to get in contact and write to them, but obviously it takes allot more then that. I regret that I have lost my receipts, with having to move through several different states over this time, due to military reasons, and don't have everything in writing right at this moment. But when I did sign up, we agreed to make a $50.00 down and the total of $50.00 per month for 2 people. When I received my first statement it was different then what I agreed to pay. As a matter of fact back at that time, they only gave me 2 papers one of which was the receipt, the other which were rules, and had no information regarding the monthly payments.

The receipt was for the $50.00 I paid as the down payment. My statement stated I had to pay just over $59.00. I immediately called and tried to explain to them that I did not agree to pay those $10.00 extra per month I was being held responsible for. That phone call was a waste of my time. I then wrote a letter and sent them copies of all that paperwork they had given me as a part of the agreement, which was a whole page plus a receipt. I was angry when I was ignored over the phone, and in my letter I explained that I do not wish to have anything to do with them. I used their facilities maybe 2 times, which was before I ever received my first statement.

After that I refused to go into the facilities. I explained that I was never told about extra charges and surcharges they add onto the price they said it will cost. I agreed to pay up to $25 per month x 2, which added up to no more then $50.00, and the next thing I knew they changed it. If they were able to change something such as the agreed price, I should be able to cancel my contract, which according to sales rep I had 30 days to do as it was, after I was refused while speaking to them over the phone, to correct that price to what I had agreed to pay. I was lied to and mislead, and the information such as additional charges was withheld from me until my first statement. Word " LOAN " was never mentioned to me. Even when you go to sign a loan they add all the fees together right away, and they not only never mentioned a loan, but they also never mentioned the additional fees. And because of those things I wanted no longer to have anything to do with Bally Total Fitness company.

I didn't receive any services from them or their facilities. I am hoping that this will be the last time I have to write to anyone about this company. I am also hoping that they will be able to make wrong into right. I am hoping to not have to write anymore letters, to any companies or involve media or any other ex customers who had been deceived like I have. I found that I am by far one of MANY people who had been put in this position by this company. All I ask is what I was promised. I already paid with my credit report being ruined now.

Is Ballys going to keep their word and fix this entire mess?...I guess I will find out soon enough. I will update their actions.
