Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

When I signed up for a AT&T Uverse Internet / Direct TV package I was promised a $100.00 gift card from AT&T. Something strange happend two weeks after the service began, it was disconnected. When I called the service center I was told that the account had been canceled. I did not call and cancel this account and when I asked who did the representitive told me there was not record of who canceled the account. This only affected the internet service and didn not affect the Direct TV. Additionally, the repesentitive told me I was going to have to pay a $49.00 reconnection fee which I told them I was not going to pay because I did not cancel the service.

After I received the next bill - there was the $49.00 reconection fee. I called customer service again and went through the story. I brought up the service cancelation by some unknown person and when I asked about the gift card I was told that AT&T did not offer gift cards for Internet / Direct TV bundles. The representivite assured me she could get to the bottom and the problem and promised to call me back. That was over a month ago. Now, I have received an email that a new AT&T account has been set up and the email contains a pin number for me to use to set up service. I did not order this service nor is this the pin number I enitially chose for my account. At this point I am done doing business with AT&T. It seems there are major problems with their computer systems and may have some roge representitives. Their whole business is shady at best. Unethical and dishonest is more accurate. Thank you for your time reading this Ripoff Report.
