Earlier this year I went into an AT&T store to trade in an iPhone and get a new one and switch service from Verizon to AT&T. I trade gave them my old phone which was still being paid for but they told me they would give me a $650 refund reward for switching to their service. They also charged me another $250 as a deposit but said I would be credited for this later. That must did happen later.

But the refund for my trade in phone never happened. I called and chatted over and over online and on the phone with the store, with the national company. They told me to take the final bill from Verizon once I finally got it. I did that once it arrived, once they made that understandable as what must be turned in. I went to the store and gave them a copy of the bill. The store clerk sdaid he was taking care of all that was needed for the $650 reward.

I waited and waited.

I called.

I never got it. When I called the store they told me they kept no records. When I called the company various things would happen like...I would suddenly be disconnected more often than not. Or I would be switched over and over to different agents.

I finally switched back to Verizon! They took the money I owed for the previous account out of my bank account! So I've already paid for the phone I traded in to AT&T.

Verizon has now already given me the similar reward they offer for new (or returning) customers since I traded in the phone I got from that AT&T store.

Now AT&T says I owe them $693 for the phone they gave me. But they never gave me credit for the phone I gave them.

This is maddening!!! I'm also going to NBC Responds here on Channel 5 in Chicago.
