Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

The AT&T Wireless store in Middletown, Delaware has been ripping us off for quite a while. We've been long time customers, going back to when they first came to Middletown in 2004, back when it was still Cingular Wireless. We have actually been with them longer than that, we just have been using the Middletown location because that's where we've lived our entire lives. I want to say we've been with AT&T (Cingular) since 2002. I myself, was the last one to be added onto the plan in October 2004.

When I first got on the plan, I don't recall exactly what our plan was but I believe it was something like 600 minutes, 500 texts, and data (no idea how much data). This was a plan with four phones. I think monthly it was right about $100 for all four phones. About two years later, my sister took herself off our plan, leaving us with three phones on the plan. Around this time we also gave up the data plan. The monthly cost has slowly been rising continously since this happened.

After Cingular became AT&T, it's been nothing but problems. The prices have become ridiculous. We had some problems with going over on the minutes, so we went in to talk to them about possibly switching the plan up a little, to include more minutes. They told us that we'd be stupid to switch to a different plan, because we were grandfathered in (through Cingular) with the plan we had. They tell us this because they're making money from it.

After being without a phone, I've talked to a few AT&T chat representatives online about what would possibly be a good phone. They give me their personal opinions, without trying to sell me the most expensive phones. They are helpful, unlike the people at the Middletown AT&T. I also talked to them about our plan. They said the staff at the AT&T store are in the wrong for what they told us a few years ago about trying to upgrade our plan. We are now paying close to $200 per month for three lines, 600 minutes, unlimited text and no data. Again, one of the online AT&T chat representatives suggested we definitely upgrade our plan. He went on to say that we could get a plan with the three lines, unlimited talk and text and 3GB data for about $115 per month.

This particular location is nothing but a scam. I fail to see why we're on a decade old plan, and nothing has changed, yet the price has doubled. If the other two people (one the account holder) on the plan want to remain with AT&T, then so be it. I'll go elsewhere, probably pre-paid. I'll have to pay upfront for the phone, but it'll still be cheaper then being on this dinosaur AT&T plan. I'd much rather pay a few hundred dollars for a smartphone and only $30 - $50 per month for unlimited talk, text and data. I urge everyone to avoid AT&T.
