No matter who uses the warranty (valid or not) claim ATT will keep your device, charge you 419 dollars.  In most ethical companies the organization would decide to use a 3rd party to identify warranty claims ATT does not.  Essentially anyone who files a claim is subject to ATT determination for that claim.  It is in ATT financial interest to add damage to a phone submited ( which requires a drop of water) or crack a screen.   AT that point ATT aoutomatically charges the consumer for a voided claim file (419 dollards) as well as sends that phone back to the manufacturer (which could easily be a thrid party that all of the manufactureres agree to use, which could also be owned by ATT) who then puts together phones from these parts to be used for warranty claims) 

Essentially ATT gets free phones to put together to charge consumers 419 dollars for them. 

 

This is how I was hooked:

 

I spoke with:Stacy Id number8 sw23w on Feb 20 2012

 

    • Called January 1 about phone (Samsung 3) home button no longer working

    • Received replacement

    • Replacement did not work all the time (screen issue)

    • AT&T Received first package January 24th

    • Received letter and original phone shell stating phone submitted voided warranty due to crack on phone

    • Called to cancel – was sent upgraded phone to save service

    • Received replacement phone for first replacement

spoke with this person who then stiupated that no matter what the 419 dollars is valid due to the phone submitted being cracked  (MY PHONE DID NOT HAVE A CRACK)

Because all of this conviently happens outside of the 14 day warranty I would have to pay the 419 in addition to canceling service of 350 plus my bill

The only opions I have is to pay or not pay.   I will pay because I do not want it to effect my credit and as a consumer I am left with suing att ( good luck right) and submitting a report to the following
