My husband died last year form terminal illness, I called ATT because of the high bills due to calling out of country to family. I have been a long time customer in good standing since this was Cingular wireless. Also ex-employee of Pacific Bell/SBC for 11 years. I have never experienced what I experienced with the representatives at this company. I told them I could pay $300 2x a month till bill get paid off due to the extenuating circumstance on why bill got high. I never had a bill that high and they knew it. So one rep. told me ok. I was making my payments as I promised, next thing I get a call from outside collection agency, named Nationwide Recovery service. The person was very rude, judgemental, threatening and arrogant. He told me if I did not make any payment arrangements with him, they were going to sue me and get judgement. He made me make payment arrangements for $224.97 2x a month on my pay periods, and they included and early termination fee of $600. Even though I did not terminate. they terminated me. So far i have paid 6 payments of $224.97 which has put me behind in my major bills because of this bill. I still have 2 or 3 more payments still left to go. I am outraged and wish they would be closed down.
