On July 15, I contacted the online chat for Uverse because I had auto pay set up for my bill and I wanted to pay the bill early, since I had some extra cash. This is chat transcript Reference number 740654836835355761, From July 15, 2015 at 04:49:11.
During the conversation, the rep offered me the opportunity to upgrade my services, both Uverse for television and Internet services, for $88 plus fees and taxes.
To quote DIRECTLY from the chat transcript:
AT&T : Welcome. I can see that you can get U 450 TV package and 24 Mbps Internet promotional offer and you can lower your bill to $88 plus taxes,
AT&T : Currently you have U 300 and 18 Mbps Internet speed,
AT&T : You can get U 450 and 24 Mbps Internet speed.
AT&T : I have done the upgrade promotional offer for you and the order number is 1888148404A, please make a note of it, Mel.
So now it's time for the new bill.. I am expecting a bill of about $100 (the $88 plus taxes). My bill was $166!!!!!!!
Seems the rep LIED to me, and AT&T will NOT honor what their agent promised me in the chat!!!!!! That extra $66 was grocery money for my family for a week!!!!!
And I tried to get them to give me my original services back, and I was denied there, too!!!
I thought bait and switch was against the law???
