I order the Asurion protection plan when I purchased a laptop on Amazon. I went to Asurion.com to register my product and upload a screen capture of my receipt. After that, there was no nowhere to go on the website and view my products registered with them like there is with SquareTrade.

I like to see what products are covered, when they were covered and when they expire. The only option was to file a claim so I decided to see how that process would go. They throw up another roadblock by requesting you give them a verification code to continue your claim and give you options to send you that code via text or email.

Twice I entered to send to ###-###-##22 and both times they send a text to ###-###-##11. Not my number! Needless to say, I never received a text. So, I tried the email option. Who knows where that went because I never got an email with a verification code, not even in spam folder. Therefore, I could not navigate the Asuron website past the verification code pop-up box.

I tried the chat box and the girl said she could process the claim for me. I wasn't ready for a claim but who knows what other obstacles they would throw in front of me when it came time for a claim. This made me very suspicious. It isn't that hard to create a user friendly website and to deliberately not send a verification could to your phone or email?! It makes me seriously doubt that they would honor my protection plan if and when I needed it.
