I really appreciate your help and you are absolutely right. I have a severe memory loss from the time I defaulted because of an accident. When I applied for the free credit reports they kept asking me questions that i had no idea to the answers like credit card numbers. They also asked me questions about mortgages that I had never applied for-that i did know nor when I got the credit report were on there. Then they asked me to mail them a bunch of sensitive information and proof which made me uncomfortable but i did it. Then they asked me for more sensitive proof and stuff like mailing in copies of my social security card (I already mailed them a copy of my drivers license and Social Security number) which I did not want to put in the mail enough was enough. I just paid for the credit report club of the month and received immediately on line. It turns out that it will work out though because i can monitor anything for several months just in case another scavenger tries this again. LMD

Laura, First I am confused about your statement that "..Well I paid for a credit report, because getting a free credit report is next to impossible,.." Getting a free credit report takes about 1 minute to order. The ONLY official website to get your free annual credit report as provided for under federal law is: annualcreditreport, OR you can call each bureau directly and ask specifically for your free annual credit report. Keep in mind, that scores are never free. Now for your main problem. Stay off the phone and avoid web based disputes. Do everything in writing and by certified mail/rrr. Send your dispute to all bureaus affected AND the entity that put the entry on it. Any bad debt can stay on your credit report for only 7 years from last major delinquency which is usually the charge off. Even if you make a payment during that time, the original default and negative payments STILL roll off at the 7 year point of each. Keep in mind that making a payment restarts the SOL for collections which is different from the SOL for credit reporting. You MUST be VERY agressive when dealing with these people. Document everything. I suggest you read the FCRA and the FDCPA, both available at the ftc.gov website.

The account they are trying to renew can't be renewed it is OSL and it is against the law to do this. I found what I needed on the Internet and am I am filing the correct paper work. There is no way I will let them play with my motions and get me angry. I left the land line unplugged and I just don't care they will lose if they try to take me to court and I will just counter sue for harassment. These people just want to play with your emotions. A wise person said there are no one sided arguments. If you wrestle with a pig you will just get dirty! LMD
