In March of 2006, I bought a barebones computer from Ascendtech. After some delay, and some lies as to when it will ship out, I received it.
In September of 2006, the motherboard went bad. I called them up, 12 times, each time leaving a voicemail message to call me back. Their voicemail message even says "someone will call you back soon" 5 days later, I finally get a call, they say warranties go thru the mfg. I said ok, I have no problem with that.
I contacted the mfg of the motherboard, after giving them the serial number of the board, I find out that is an older board, and the warranty ended months ago. I told them I have a one year warranty, they said the one year starts when they ship it out to the retailer, not when the end user gets it.
I contacted Ascendtech back, they said no one there told me I had a one year warranty. Funny, I have an email stating that from them, dated 2 days before I bought the computer. hmmmm. They said there is nothing they can do.
I have just now contacted by mail, the Attorney General of Ohio, since this computer was mailed across state lines, it is considered Mail Fraud. I have included all the pertinent documentation from Ascendtech, including emails, from them and from the mfg. I have also told them they might want to come to this website, and get more information of the illegal business practices this company does. I will never buy from this company again, no matter what happens. And no one else should either.
