I fully agree with you that the BBB is nothing but a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'organization that does nothing for the consumer. BBB is funded by member organizations and caters to their needs and not the needs of the general public.

I complained about Land Tek (Arbor Green Landscape) in Plymouth, Michigan. I wrote to the BBB of Eastern Michigan in Southfield, Michigan, about how I was cheated by the company who delivered substandard products and services and did not honor their warranty.

I sent an online complaint and one by mail too.

I never heard from them for over a month. Finally after a few calls/messages, I got a letter from Ms. Rebecca Gohlke stating that M/s Land Tek is not responding to their letter and so there is nothing they can do about it. This was a shock.

BBB just sits there and forwards my letter to the other party and waits to hear from them. No calls, no follow up and no response means..."sorry, can't do anything". What is the purpose of such an organization??

After some more follow up, Ms Gohlke simply vomited the other party's words to me. She was literally their mouth piece. She lacked the common sense, common intelligence to comprehend and analyze my statements and neither did she read and understand my letter or complaint. The quality of personnel at BBB was so

poor that I realized that I can have nothing accomplished by talking to such morons working in an organization that has no intention to safegauard the interest of consumers. They are just another organization collecting funds from corporations to keep a few morons employed and help officers get complimentary

golf memberships/passes. Never would one expect such deception in this very land of justice and fairness. Shame on us consumers to sit around and watch this.

The BBB should be dissolved and a working organization built by consumers for consumers should be created.

My Issue:

I paid the landscaper $1870 for 5 trees- 3 deciduous trees of minimum 2.5" caliper, 1 Colorado Blue Spruce and 1 Austrian Pine both of minimum 7" height. The landscaper would install and warranty the trees for 1 yr.

I now realize that all 3 decidous trees are less than 2.5" caliper. This makes a lot of difference in terms of cost/size. The Colorado Blue Spruce turned out to be just an ordinary ugly spruce and the Austrian Pine is a damaged one. All this means they took undue advantage of my trust, gave me substandard products. They installed the trees while I was a t work and I trustd them so mauch that I simply asked my wife at home to give them the check - no questions.

A few months later 2 of the decidous trees died. the landscaper now wants $515 (after intitally quoting $640) to replace the 2 trees. He says the tree is free and the charge is for delivery and installation. I paid $780 for those 2 trees for delivery, installation, warranty etc. What sense does $515 make. Doesn't it mean the tree costs only $132.50 each. I'd love to buy trees from him at that price. Moreover he(Mr. Craig LaFlair) verbally told me that warranty involves no cost, but had my wife sign a contract while she gave the check. He told her it was a delivery invoice and had her sign it. She was too busy to read it or suspect him. The contract is not clear, but he is taking full advantage of the ambiguity to not fulflil his obligation.

I want this guy to wind up his business. They are crooks, a social parasite. I hope to be compensated for the substandard products he's supplied. None of his trees meet specifications. Else, he can pull them out and give me new trees that meet specifications and invoice description.

Also, during our discussions, Mr. Criag LaFlair the owner uttered ethincally motivated statements with the intent to intimidate me. I wish to sue him for ethnic intimidation.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
