To follow up on the original poster's complaint, I would like to share my own negative experiences with Appliancesconnection. It is a know fact that they are a fraudulent internet business associated with previous internet scams such as Fotoconnection and 1stopcamera all run by Al Fouerti.
One part of their scam is to sell cutomers knowingly damaged mechandise. They buy scratch and dent appliances in bulk at a deep discount, thats how their prices can be so low. They sell you the item as new hoping you won't notice. If you do notice, it's too late, they already have your money. You call and complain and get to talk to rude customer service agents like John Winters, Rick Anders, Andrew Kipp, and Jorge Quiridumbay, who verbally threaten, intimidate, and harrass you. Dealing with them is such a nightmare that you eventually give up and they keep your money. If you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they just lie their way out of the complaint. Same thing if you file a credit card chargeback, they give the credit card company false evidence they use against you. Sometimes they will commit warranty fraud and have the comany come out and tinker with your appliance to make you happy. This costs the manufacturer money and raises the prices of appliances for every one else.
I urge everybody to avoid this place at all costs. If you are already a victim, chances are you will not get your money back and I urge you to contact the NY state and your current state's attorney general. These crooks need to be put out of business.

actually it depends on what you signed. alot of these companies have language on the signature form that waives your protection under many consumer laws. thats why if your purchase something that costs several thousnads of dollars you have to inspect the hell out of it on arrival. You have the right to make those guys wait even if they get pushy. When i buy appliances i install it or at least make sure it is installable before i sign anything. yea its not fair what they did but it may technically be legal. thats why you gotta treat these things like the business transactions that they are and be a shrewd business person cuz people will try and take advantage.
