I was offered 1 free month of AOL BROADBAND SERVICE, by a gentleman who came door to door. He works for time warner cable. I figured, sure, why not try it... That was a mistake!

I eagerly hopped online to see the blazing speed and was very impressed. Then, when my month was about to end, I called and cancelled my service, I was likely going to be deployed overseas for an uncertain period of time.

I was offered another month of free service, i figured, what the heck, I did like the fast connection. So, i accepted there generous offer, but then the billing began! I first recieved a bill from Time Warner, saying i owed them a small amount of money fro the month of service....the first free month! I promptly called them and told them of there mistake, I was quickly told that it wasn't there fault, that AOL was at fault.

I refused to pay for the service that was free, and got on a 3-way call with the lady from time warner and a rep from AOL. They came to the conclusion that i recieved an older version of there software from the gentleman who came to my home and offered it. I was told that the old version was not the free one.

I quickly said that it was not my fault that they offered something and could not do it...and i refused to pay. The two people on the phone agreed and then offered another month free!

So the next month, guess what, $28.90 straight out of my account!!!! So i cancelled my account and then took back the modem that time warner so gratiously gave me. I told the lady there what was happening and she apologized and said that there was nothing she could possibly do for they are two entirely different companies!!!!!!!!!!!

So, after a month of no service, i get the same theft from my account, for AOL internet service....I have never used a dial up service through AOL, but this is what was said when i called, it has happened 2-3 times since i cancelled it again and again....we'll see what happens next month i guess!
