I've called AMR LD numerous times now. Most times I give up because I sit on hold for approxiamately 30 minutes. Twice, I have been told I was going to recieve a refund. Not only have I not recieved the refund, but they continue to bill my credit card for the service the were supposedly going to cancel!!!
I have now notified my CC company. I finally searched the Internet for AMR LD and found this site. I've noticied that most complaints have been for about $48 dollars. My monthly charges were for $61.02. I have been charged $366 dollars now, because I thought I was dealing with a legitimate company. If I had known about this site earlier, I would have simply told my CC company earlier.
The other stories I've read are exactly like my own. I had no memory of signing up for this service. However, they had my email address and the charge began almost immediately after I got a new Providian VISA. They explained that I must have signed up for the service when I applied for my CC. I stupidly believed them even though I have no paper work that has anything to do with AMR LD (and I save everything!).
What, if any, legal action can I take to get a refund? I don't have money to pay for a lawyer just to get $366 (on credit) back.
