I worked for Ameritemp LTD. as an equipment builder and a Service Technician.  They could not employ me directly due to insurance reasons, however, because I had a Universal EPA license, they went to great lengths to employ me, including refering me to a temporary help firm.  Their head service tech "Chuck"  drank beer constantly while on the job, in the shop and in their service truck on the road. He also failed the online EPA exam 10 times before I was asked to do it for him.  The owner Al Favia also drank beer constantly. I may have seen Al twice during the entire course of my employment not intoxicated.  The way he avoided DUI's was by paying large "donations" to the local police department.  Chuck never was able to complete a service call or repair without technical assistance, hence the reason for my hiring.  While working there,  Their driver  "Jimmy"  totaled two different company trucks and Injured numerous people on the road all while FAILING the CDL exam 12 times before finally passing the written exam.  The on the road exam took 15 tries to pass.  Since I could not drive the company trucks due to epilepsy,  I offered technical assistance to Chuck all day while Designing, fabricating, building and repairing HVAC rental equipment in their shop.

Al was extremely demanding and extremely cheap.  He would not even provide proper painting respritory protection and forced me to use a house painter to paint his equipment.  While painting for him,  I became extremely ill due to a throat infection caused by the lack of respritory protection and was berated when I tried to provide it for myself.  I had to go into life saving surgery at 5 A.M. after getting to the hospital at 1 A.M. because I woke up one night unable to breathe.  Because of my illness, Al hired another technician and made me feel extremely unwelcome when I came back, screaming at me in front of other employees calling me worthless and stupid,  even though I wired the Majority of his prized Job, The addition to Elgin Community College in Elgin Illinois.  Both Chuck and Jimmy were unable to, however, I had no problem figuring out a power problem at Tesla Frozen Product's new factory in Chicago, IL.  Al's top men as he called them were unable to spot a simple wire size problem, yet his shop b**ch, as he refered to me as, saw it from a mile away.

This hostility came to a head one day while Chuck could not solve a service problem in Glendale Heights, Il, so I had to drive my own vehicle out to the job site to fix the simple problem.  Al and I had agreed earlier that day that he would refill my gas tank because I had used it for his service call, however, when I returned to the shop,  he was horribly intoxicated and violent with me and tried to claim to the local police dept. that I stole gas from him.  He also tried to use this as an excuse to fire me because he didn't have any other excuse to and I had finished Chucks EPA exam earlier that week, so my EPA certification was no longer needed by him.

In closing,  Ameritemp. LTD and Ameritemp Equipment Services used me to repair, paint, and fabricate all the equipment he needed and had, then when they made me sick enough that I almost died, they pushed me out into the street, knowing I had moved into a new house not two weeks before.  Al was even nice enough to say "Good Luck keeping the house"  as he was threatning my life and watching me clear out my tool locker.  Al also often boasts to his drinking buddies about stealing service contracts from the very company that helped him start Ameritemp, American Engineering, out of Arlington Heights, Illinois.  I am also not the first person to recieve this treatment.  There were several other workers who Chuck and Jimmy laughed about harassing until they quit so Al would not have to pay their unemployment costs.  Ameritemp is a horrid, unethical company, as well is anybody who rents equipment from them.
