I want everyone to beware of the mistreating and unacceptable processing practices of this company.

Targeting mid-line automotive consumer clients, this company's business thrives on those with less than perfect credit and those who have come out of unfortunate circumstances such as divorce, bankruptcy, etc..

I am currently going through a dispute of posting of payments to my account. I bought my car in February of 2002 and had signed several forms of miscelleneous paperwork required for the loan. After the contract was signed, I did not receive any correspondance from AmeriCredit addressing my payment coming due..I needed to call the dealership in order to get any information from this company. I made a payment over the phone and informed the representative of the address, home phone and work phone information to update my account. I was given a new address to sned payment, payment due date and amount that was to be sent for future reference.

I proceeded month after month to send in a cashier's check with my full amount due to the address given to me- still not receiving statements from the company. One day in August I came out of work to go home and my car was gone... after filing a police report for a stolen car, I found out it had been repo'd on the request of an AmeriCredit specialist in Canada due to "non-payment." I explained that payment has been made, payments can be proved through my bank, and they had no right taking the car.

Four days later mysteriously, two of the four payments suddenly appeared to post on the account, but the others weren't showing... I disputed with the rep- saying I was not contacted, informed or given any idea that I was showing delinquent and I was furious he took my car. All the informaton on the account was wrong- and they had aquired my information from referrals I had originally notated on the loan papers.

They used deceiptful practices with my family and friends and even after finding my information-which they had- they made the conscious decision to refuse contact with me. Since the repo- I have presented payment receipts which proved they've held my payment all along and didn't post my payments. Now they refuse to contact me to discuss the status and I have a lawsuit pending the outcome.
