Americredit Financial A Rip-Off, Fraudulent and Vague Billing Processes! Hunterville North Carolina
I traded in my leased 1995 Ford Contour with a very reputable dealer. I was able to obtain a top of the line luxury Mercury Sable for a reasonable monthly payment. Upon being laid off from my job, I experienced hard times and got behind in some payments.
As a result, the customer service staff harassed me everyday and one woman in particular was very abusive over the phone. They don't do a good job in documenting their phone calls as I have to repeat everything to each different rep every time I call.
For instance, I made some specific arrangements for payment, and I had a rep call me the very next day and attempt to put me through the same arrangments! Unacceptable!
Also, I made a phone check arrangement, but had some trouble with my direct deposit. So I called Americredit to cancel the phone check. They said that they would, and gave me a confirmation. But in reviewing my bank statement, I realize that they ran the check anyway, which interfered with my account!
Recently, I have been thinking about trading in my Sable for something with better resale value. So I went back to the same dealer and had the salesman run a few numbers. When he contacted Americredit to find out the status of my account and the pay-off amount, they quoted him approximately $3000 more than what it should be. I believe that Americredit is padding the pay-out costs with "interest" and "charges" and "late fees" which do not really exist.
Unfortunately, I am ignorant to the exact status of my account. I need some assistance in figuring out how I can get out of this arrangement with this financial institution. I think Americredit is inflating its fees. And their customer service leaves sooo much to be desired! PLEASE HELP!
