Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently had an Air Conditioner installed through American Home Shield. The technician they sent was the guy who owns Tri City Service compan, Cibolo, Tx. The guy was rude and would not give me the information I needed to make a good decision.

He told me for $370.00 he could get American Home Shield to purchase a Carrier indoor A/C unit. Instead I find he installed a Payne A/C unit. The guy never once informed me that it was a Payne. Then AHS tells me it's made by Carrier. I don't think so!!!!!!!!! I researched Payne web site and there is no mention of Carrier. I researched Carrier and there is not reference to Payne.

Then to top it off, the duct work was not completed. The closet is 40 degrees and the rest of the house, well don't ask! And, he installed a pipe that blocks the filter, so that I can't even put in a filter. What can I do?

I was reading your clash of AHS and Carrier and thought that I would lead a word or two. 1) United TechnologiesLLC> Carrier and BDP manufacture heating and air conmditioning products. 2) Payne is a quality line of equipment and will product the amount of btu's on it's label. 3) Now if you have issues with air flow or leakage of ductwork how is Payne respnsible for that, I suggest that you call the installer of the system and have them take a look at your system. 4) Most good contractor's have inspections done by the city to insure a properly installed system and follow the International Mechanical Code requirements. When you had your equipment replace they should have given you a list of Home Owner Responsibility Charges (sheet) for you to look over and sign, at that time if you had any questions you should have asked the contractor. I have been with Carrier company and AHS-THW for more than a year, and our customers don't complain about there options when AHS is paying for there system to be replaced at little or very low cost. Best suggestion that I could give you is call the installation contractor and ask for some help with installation as you are not satified with you system.

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: William Byars Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion Rebuttal: Amerian Homeshield uses a purchasing system called Carrier Connections which when we used them we recieved Payne equipment. Carrier has a division call BDP Bryant, DayandNIght and Payne. These units are carbon copies of the carrier series which allows more dealers to offer carrier like products. The only disclaimer to this is the ability of carrier to offer higher effiency products in their upper line than BDP

I just renewed my policy - No complaints yet -

I was just searching the web for American Home Shield - I just renewed my policy - No complaints yet - to stumble upon your complaint and while I don't know the extent of your circumstances I can tell you ( I am a Carrier employee) that Payne is in fact a product of Carrier Corporation.
If you had researched these web sites you would have found a button for suggested links to other product lines and companies that are "goverened" by Carrier. Bryant is also a product of Carrier. Maybe the tech wasnt so wrong after all?
