On May the 10th, while on a business trip in the East I was notified of a medical emergency involving my wife. I contacted our corporate travel dept. They called me in my hotel room and said they had me on an America West flight to Oakland Ca. through Midway, I only had one hour to catch the plane. I got a taxi cab to get me to the airport(55.00). I ran in to the America West ticket counter and saw three agents looking at a monitor, as I stood there more people got in line but the agents continued looking at the monitor, finally they decided to help us. After checking my baggage and getting my ticket I was informed"there is no hurry,this flight has been delayed for two and a half hours" After asking what would happen to my connections in Midway I was told" I don't know" in a tone of voice and manner that indicated that they could care less. I asked why the flight was delayed and was told that the pilots were out of time. My corporate travel dept. finally got me on a flight later that day that cost me 500.00 more. After emailimg America West with this story the failed to even acknowledge my email. Never again with America West.
